Great Adventure Family Ministries

David and Kris

David and Kris Garms have always enjoyed gospel music and their love for the Lord and music is evident to all.  David sings lead and plays guitar and accordian; Kris sings either alto harmony or lead and plays upright bass and piano.  David enjoys leading his family and being the visionary for our family's ministries.  He's currently unemployed, and we are trusting on the Lord to provide through our full-time ministry. Kris thrives while being a stay-at-home wife and mom.  She has joyfully taught our homeschooled children for the past 13 years.

 Benjamin

Ben, 21 years old, is quite the musician!  He was 11 when he received his acoustic guitar, and now also plays banjo, upright bass, bass guitar, electric guitar, and anything he sets his mind to play!  He is our bass singer, and is known for his big, encouraging smile.  Recently, Ben discovered the world of audio production, and he is hooked!  When not involved with music around the home, he can be found working around our acreage, running FOGMA, spending time with his siblings, writing, etc.  Ben is the second graduate of our homeschool; he graduated on June 13th, 2009.

Taylor

Taylor is 19 years old and is the artistic one of the family.  As soprano of the group,  she sings either melody or descant.  Taylor plays mandolin, piano, fiddle, guitar, and jaw harp.  She is most comfortable with a pen, pencil, or computer mouse in her hand; Taylor is the group's IT and is an avid graphic/web designer and blogger.  Her other interests include: art, writing, songwriting, and photography.  She also runs a ministry for young women called Godly Girlhood; her passion is to encourage people to seek after the Lord with their whole heart.  Taylor graduated from homeschool on August 14th, 2010.

Uliana

Uli, age 18, is a special part of our family.  She was our foster daughter/sister for over two years, but does not currently live with us.  We love her deeply and miss her presence in our lives.  Uli played mandolin and did sign language while with our family band, and was a favorite with many.  We love ya' Uli!

Leesha

Leesha (17) is a cheerful young lady who enjoys her siblings, books, nature, and sign language.  She carries the lead on many songs and is adding harmony as well.    Leesha is the official dobro player and also plays mountain dulcimer.   As the most prolific bookworm of the family, she can sometimes read several books a day (she claims Charles Dickens as one of her favorite authors)!  Leesha also loves poetry and expresses many thoughts through her own poetry.  She is a very diligent student and continues to blossom and grow into a beautiful young lady.

Leesha's favorite Bible verses: Psalm 25

Other Interesting Facts:  Leesha loves nature and likes to identify birds and their different bird calls.  If there is a strange bird flying in the skies, the one we go to for indentification is Leesha; she'll usually be able to tell us what it is!

Samuel

Goofy, creative, and ingenious.  Sam (12)  keeps the family wondering what he's going to come up with next.  He is full of interesting ideas and questions, and he loves to share jokes.  Sam is the second bookworm; Leesha still holds the title of champion bookworm.  He sings melody and alto harmony, and also plays drums, harmonica, and piano.     Sam also enjoys playing different sports activities (especially baseball and basketball), drawing,  creating games, and playing cars, armymen, and LEGOs.

Jayme

Jayme  (10) was our Christmas present (born on December 22nd, 2001) and still is our little bundle of joy.  She is becoming a polished vocalist, singing melody and descant harmony, and also (mainly)plays fiddle and mandolin.  Her gift of playing music by ear is amazing.  Jaym-Jaym wrote a song which you will hear at many of our concerts, "I Need You, Lord." She wants to be just like her older sisters, and is interested in art and computers; she likes helping Mom out and playing  with her dolls.  Also an outdoorsy girl, you can find Jayme outside jumping rope, playing ball, and having adventures with her brothers and the family cats.

Caleb

Look out Southern Gospel Music! Caleb (8) is well on his way to be an all around entertainer!  People love his energectic performances and growing talents on guitar and ukulele.  Caleb recently had the opportunity to sing with his favorite quartet, Legacy Five; click here to watch the video and read the story.  He is definitely an all-around  boy as he enjoys cars, balls, trains...basically anything that moves or he can move.  He enjoys baseball, basketball, and roaming the land with his siblings.  We call him "Tag-Along" as he loves doing whatever we are doing.
